Our Workshop

Located in Concord, Ontario, our workshop is where raw materials transform into finished furniture. The space houses traditional hand tools alongside modern precision equipment, allowing us to combine time-tested techniques with contemporary methods.

We work primarily with Canadian hardwoods, sourcing materials from suppliers who share our commitment to quality and sustainable practices. Each board is selected for its grain pattern, color consistency, and structural integrity, ensuring that the materials contribute positively to the final piece.

Our Approach

We believe that custom furniture should serve both function and aesthetics. Every design decision is made with purpose, balancing practical requirements with visual harmony. We avoid unnecessary ornamentation, instead letting the inherent beauty of materials and thoughtful construction speak for themselves.

Our process is collaborative. We view each project as a partnership with our clients, working together to develop solutions that address their specific needs and preferences. This collaborative approach ensures that the final piece fits seamlessly into their environment and lifestyle.

Quality is not negotiable. We take time with each step of the process, from initial design through final finishing. Rushing leads to compromises, and we prefer to work at a pace that allows for careful attention to detail and thoughtful problem-solving.

Materials & Methods

We work primarily with solid hardwoods, favoring species like oak, maple, cherry, and walnut for their combination of beauty and durability. These materials offer grain patterns that add visual interest while providing the structural strength necessary for long-term use.

Joinery methods are selected based on the specific requirements of each piece. Traditional techniques like mortise and tenon joints provide strength and visual appeal. Dovetail joints are used in drawer construction for both structural integrity and aesthetic detail. Modern methods complement traditional approaches where they offer advantages in precision or efficiency.

Finishes are chosen to protect the wood while enhancing its natural characteristics. We use oil-based finishes, water-based polyurethanes, and traditional waxes, selecting the appropriate option based on the wood species, intended use, and desired appearance. Each finish is applied with care, ensuring even coverage and a professional result.

Working With Us

If you're considering custom furniture, we'd like to hear about your project. The best way to begin is with a conversation about what you're looking to create. We'll ask questions about function, aesthetics, space constraints, and timeline to determine if we're a good fit for your project.

We work on projects of various scales, from single pieces to multiple items designed as a cohesive set. Each project receives individual attention, and we maintain clear communication throughout the process to ensure expectations are met.

Our location in Ontario allows us to serve clients throughout Canada. We can work with clients remotely for design development and coordinate delivery or installation as needed.
